The first generation of mutants known as the X-Men--Cyclops, Angel, Beast, Iceman and Marvel Girl--were gathered together by Professor Charles Xavier, a brilliant scientist who is secretly a mutant himself. Headquartered at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, the teenaged X-Men test their emerging powers in the Danger Room.
